Launched late 1976, it was the fourth slalom deck in the FibreFlex lineup after the Pro Slalom, 24” Slalom, and Cut Out. It subsequently became the industry template for signature models. p. 020-023: The sky-blue boards are where Stefan Ytterborn's entire project of collecting 1970s FibreFlex boards began. They are a mix of original and reissued decks, all restored by himself. p. 035: 1975 Freestyle "A Streaker" refurbished original, restored by English restorer Mark Mayers. It was advertised in the fall 1975 issue of SkateBoarder as a board for “freeform and trick performance: 360s and wheelies." p. 060-061: The Cut Out slalom deck first appeared in dealer price lists in September 1976, and was offered in single- and dual-ply versions with 3M rubber grip. The setup is performance-oriented. p. 072-073: This NOS 1978 26” Freestyle remains true to the FibreFlex “flex-deck” heritage. It is a medium thin, triple-ply board with an updated outline—slightly wider and squarer than earlier freestyle models. By 1978, slalom and vertical decks were stiff, whereas the Freestyle was—aside from its slalom decks—notable for combining flexibility with a degree of rigidity. p. 094-095: Murray Estes p. 114-115: the dessert pipes p. 142-143: Steve Cathey at La Costa p. 186: Wheels p. 196-197: Shogo Kubo p. 206: Laura Thornhill Portrait Picture of the author Stefan Ytterborn: "Photo Tobias Lundkvist"
